Renaming JTG Daugherty Racing to Hyak Motorsports?
[edit]I am wondering whether we should rename JTG Daugherty Racing to Hyak Motorsports anyways? We are getting closer to the new season, and I feel we shouldn't delay this as it might confuse readers. Any thoughts about this? MysticCipher87(alt-account) (talk) 19:42, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

Racing-Reference
[edit]Hello - I'm working on the Mario Andretti article and noticed that Racing-Reference is published by NASCAR Digital Media. As such, I'm guessing it's as reliable as you can get for NASCAR. However, it also has IndyCar stats. Is it reliable for IndyCar?
Separately, Racing-Reference doesn't have any material on USCA's former stock car series or the USCA Silver Crown, and the USCA records website has end-of-season standings and race winners but not detailed race results. The Third Turn appears to have detailed race results, but it appears to be a fan-maintained website. Does WP:NASCAR consider T3T reliable?
Thanks for your help. Namelessposter (talk) 01:56, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- R-R was reliable for all series...until NASCAR bought it. Now it's...technically acceptable but recent races can be...spotty in updating. T3T is run by one fellow and updated by a small group (disclaimer, of which I am part of) as opposed to being true "fan maintained"; we vet contributions heavily. - The Bushranger One ping only 03:39, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank God. I have no idea how you guys manage to find this stuff. Midget race results from 1964??? Love it. Namelessposter (talk) 04:23, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
- @The Bushranger: Looking at the new articles here, the vast majority of the recent creations are for ARCA (and lower) drivers that are primarily referenced to The Third Turn and Racing-Reference (Ultimate Racing History in others) – some of these would not appear to meet WP:GNG and/or WP:NMOTORSPORT. As The Third Turn would appear to be WP:USERGEN, it would not be an RS – unless I am reading The Third Turn incorrectly? Craig(talk) 20:46, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's not really USERGEN - there's one guy who curates it who does so on a 'professional' basis. (The site was affliated with Speed51 for a time before it went belly-up, he kept it.) A small group of editors compile results and add them, but he has the final say on it. I'd certainly try to find direct results sources when available - I wouldn't use either R-R or T3T to establish notablity, but for referencing results for a driver who is notable I'd believe they are both acceptable. (Ironically these days I'd rate the 'official NASCAR' R-R below T3T for reliablity, honestly.) - The Bushranger One ping only 23:01, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
